2024 Land Rush
on Re-Settlement Day

Saturday, May 18th at 12-noon

NEW LAST YEAR!

Avoid long lines at LandRush by purchasing your stakes and vehicle permits ahead of time.

Pick up pre-bundled stakes at the VIP station.

Kerrville Folk Festival campers are offered an opportunity to begin camping on Quiet Valley Ranch the Saturday prior to the Festival’s start date. Campers must purchase one stake(s) per 10' x 10' camping space (For someone wanting a 20' x 10' campsite, 2 stakes are required, etc.). Stakes are $5/night.  Campers must display their stake at their space, whether they choose to mark it with a tarp on the ground or set up their campsite in their space. The campground gate opens at 12:00 NOON on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Only employees and authorized volunteers are allowed in the campground prior to the campground gate opening.  The QVR Shareholders & Kerrvivors Stake Pre-sale will begin at 10:30 a.m at Threadgill Theater.

Electric permits are available for purchase on a first-come-first-serve basis (located near the Kerrossroads in the campground) beginning shortly after the LandRush procession on Re-Settlement Day.

RVers with a reserved site for the Festival are not required to go through Land Rush but will be subject to a $40 per night (off-season) fee for EACH non-festival night their RV is used.

If it is your first time to come for the “Land Rush” on "Re-Settlement Day":

  • PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME!

  • Beginning at 12p noon on the Friday before Re-Settlement Day, vehicles may enter through the "South Gate" of the parking lot and park in the next available place in line. Most folks set up a tent or sleep in their vehicles Friday evening to await the opening of the campground gate the following day. (see photo above).

  • IF YOU ARE BRINGING AN RV, TRAILER OR VEHICLE FOR USE DURING THE FESTIVAL, YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE BOTH A "SLEEPER VEHICLE PERMIT" ($40) AND THE APPROPRIATE QUANTITY OF STAKES FOR THE LENGTH OF YOUR RIG.

  • LandRush stakes are sold ahead of time online, as well as onsite at the VIP station (near the Festival Office) on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning leading up to the "LandRush" (campground opening) procession. Only campers who have purchased tickets for the first weekend or are registered Volunteers for the first weekend may purchase stakes. Please bring a printed ticket confirmation or volunteer application confirmation. Stakes are $5 per day up until the first day for which you are ticketed. (So, if you have a ticket for festival Day 1 -Thursday, May 23 and you purchase a stake at Land Rush, a stake will cost $25. If your first festival ticket is for Day 2 – Friday, May 24, a stake will cost $30.)

  • At 12:00 NOON on Saturday, May 18th, the horn will sound and vehicles will start entering the Campground in the order in which they were lined up in the parking lot. Campers may then find and claim a camping spot with a stake and a tarp, tent, trailer, or RV.  Folks can either set up camp and stay, (campsite is paid with the display of the stake) or some folks may choose to put down a tarp with a stake in the ground, leave for some days and come back for the festival.

  • There are a number of long-time “established” campsites* throughout the Campground whose placement may take (reasonable) priority over others. We ask everyone to work together to keep Re-Settlement Day as fair and equitable as possible, while respecting the tradition and historical significance of these established camps.

*Just because a group has given themselves a camp name and been camping in the same spot for a few years does not make them an "established" camp. By “established” we mean those major music campsites that have been around for decades and are annual Festival fixtures.
